Dr Kaviraj Sukon

Since inception, Mauritius Arya Ravi Ved Pracharini Sabha management has consisted of nominated members who have taken responsibility of various tasks for operation of the sabha.
Today, under the leadership of Dr K. S. Sukon, the founder leader of the Ravived Unity (RU) party with a vision to unite the community and fashion a vibrant image of MARVPS. The managing committee is much larger to support growth of the samaj and community needs.
Dr K. S. Sukon is the founder leader of the Ravived Unity (RU) party. His father, Mr Beerbadre Sukon, was also an active member of MARVPS. He led his party in the MARVPS elections in 2017 and 2021. Both times he has been elected. As from 21 February 2021, he is serving as the President of MARVPS. His vision is to unite the community and fashion a vibrant image of MARVPS. He has been very active on social fronts.
He is the Founder Director-General of Open University of Mauritius that has over 8,000 learners. He is also the Chairman of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council. He has been the Chairperson of the board of directors of the Mauritius Museums Council, and the Mauritius College of the Air. He has previously worked at University of Mauritius, Mauritius Examination Syndicate and Human Resource Development Council.
Dr. Sukon is an established researcher. He has developed a new method called the Two-parameter Alternative Group Explicit (TAGE) Iterative Method for the Solution of a Tridiagonal Linear System of Equations. He has coined the term “blearning” for blended learning in order to consider this method of learning as an integrated approach rather than a mix.
He has led the (a) development of the first National Human Resource Development Plan for Mauritius; (b) marking of the first International CIE Mathematics paper in Mauritius; and (c) establishment of the Open University of Mauritius. He has been a consultant for several organizations including UNESCO, ILO, UNDP AND ADEA. He has published research papers and supervised several master’s and doctoral theses. He has been a member of the Senate of University of Mauritius, and Academic Council of University of Technology, Mauritius. He also holds an honorary position at Imperial College London, UK.

He has been an executive member of the MARVPS since 2017. As from 21 February 2021, he is serving as the President of Digital Transformation for the MARVPS. His vision is to integrate digital technology into all areas of the Vedic family, fundamentally changing how MARVPS operate and deliver value to the family.He set up the MARVPS constituency number 9 federation to achieve a Vedic society.
He is the board director at the National Computer Board and part time lecturer at the MIE, UTM and Open University of Mauritius. He is a self-motivated and hardworking individual with a wide range of experience. With 24 years of professional experience in education and broadcasting. He has previously worked at Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and Mahatma Gandhi Institute. He is the author of various secondary school books in ICT and Business entrepreneur. He has published several research papers in relation to training, education and assessment. He also acted as reviewer for various internal journal and supervised several undergraduate and post graduate theses.
